First-Timer Tips
For those of you working with your little ones and the Strider for the first time, here are some tips to keep in mind as you progress on your Strider:
- Be patient
- Keep the seat low if they're really young - let them get used to walking with something under them
- When they're comfortable walking over the Strider, tell them to sit down on the seat This is where the balance starts coming into to play.
- Raise the seat once they're comfortable sitting and using their feet
- Be supportive - make a huge deal out everything they do on the bike. High fives work well.
- Be patient
- Put a hand on their back, don't hold the handle bars - they need to steer to help them balance
- Be patient
- Be supportive
Any additional tips from seasoned riders out there?

Ole' Yeller No Longer Needs a Home
**UPDATE**
The Yellow strider has a new owner and will now be calling Madison, WI its new home. Thanks Jess!
I have a yellow strider, in stock, new, that needs a home. I can help with local delivery and if it's a Christmas present I could even put a bow on it for you. Contact me if you're interested, or hit up the order form on the right side and pick Yellow as your color.

Fall is Here!
It's been a wonderful Fall season in MN with warm weather and lots of beautiful leaves. The weather has afforded lots of bike rides - now if the days just weren't so short...
Over the last couple of months, I've been hearing all sorts of great stories of kids learning to ride their first pedal bikes, many as young as 3, all because they started on a Strider. That's awesome! Congratulations to all you Strider graduates out there - great job.
Despite being able to ride a pedal bike, Charlotte still loves to grab her Strider and tear it up. Here are some shots of our Strider adventures this past weekend.
If you have some photos of your little one and their Strider in action, send pictures or video to adamsbikeshop@gmail.com or visit us on Facebook and upload them there.

This year Strider is proud to be an exhibitor at the international convention of Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS), a wonderful global organization that help moms be the very best parents they can be!
During the MOPS convention, being held this year at the Gaylord Palms hotel in Orlando, Strider will be conducting a Facebook Sweepstakes with MOPS. One lucky winner each day will win a Strider PREBike for Toddlers. Everyone can participate (including non-MOPS members) and you need not be present in Orlando to win!

All written entries and photos will be entered into a daily drawing (August 5th to 7th) for a new Strider PREBike, including free shipping to any U.S. address. Winners will be notified by email.
All submissions may be posted on either the MOPS Facebook page or on the Strider Sports website and Facebook pages. They Really Do Work
This is a prime example of what a Strider can do for your little one. My daughter Charlotte is 3.5 years old and has only tried to ride a pedal bike without training wheels one other time, yet here she is riding for blocks and blocks at a time. She absolutely loved it. She was smiling and didn't want to stop riding. When she told her daycare provider that she rode a bike, she was jumping up and down and you could tell she was so proud.
The Strider bikes provide the foundation for riding - balance and control. Because Charlotte learned these skills on a Strider the transition to a pedal bike was pretty easy. After she got on the pedal bike, the only thing that was "unfamiliar" to her were the pedals. She didn't have to worry about falling over or steering - she knew how to handle that part of riding already. All she had to concentrate on was pedalling. It's so much easier to do things when there's less to think about! And making things easy is what the Strider bike does.

Quick Release Seat Clamps
**UPDATE**
Both are spoken for. Thanks for the interest. I'll do something like this in the future, so stay tuned.
I'll be getting two (2) quick-release seat binders mid-week. You can check 'em out here (but don't order - you'll pay shipping): http://bit.ly/aJLwmy. These allow for quick and easy seat height adjustments. Perfect for the families with multiple kids and only one Strider. Or for the kid who shares their Strider with friends. The quick release replaces the binder bolt that comes standard and is set-it-and-forget-it easy to use.

If you want one - or two - get in touch with me and you'll get free shipping. This is while supplies last, first come, first served. You can email me or post a reply here. The price is $6.00 - GO!

Looking for Reviews
Sales are up for 2010 compared to last year and I'm very excited about that! As I try to spread the word of Adam's Bike Shop online, I'm finding out that I'm lacking some customer reviews. I pride myself on delivering great customer service and honest answers. I hope that you have had that type of experience if you've had to contact/purchase from me.
If you have made a purchase from me I would appreciate it if you would take a couple minutes to leave some sort of review/testimonial somewhere online. I want your review to be honest and accurately reflect your experience with me.
Here are some places you can leave a review:

Get Your Strider Registered
Did you know: Each Strider PREBike has it's own serial number.
I encourage you to submit it and your info at http://www.stridersports.com/register-your-strider.html so that we can activate your warranty, help you keep track of it, and send periodic updates and helpful tips.
The serial number is stamped into the steering head tube of each bike just below the logo.

Strider in the snow
Well - the Halloween contest came and went without an entry. That's okay, I'll try something else in the future.
I wanted to show everyone that just because we have snow on the ground it doesn't mean that you have to keep the Strider bike parked. Charlotte has ventured out a couple times this year.
A nice feature of the Strider bike is the fact that it doesn't need air in the tires. This means that if it was sitting for awhile you can just jump on and ride. Even with the cold weather there's no loss of tire pressure. Pretty cool.
If you've been riding your Strider in the "off-season" I'd love to hear about it! Send me an email or better yet, send me some pictures.
Happy riding!
